CIMSPA Sports Governing Body Partners are part of CIMSPA’s sector wide engagement including over 600 Training Provider Partners, Employer Partners, Awarding Organisation Partners, Further Education Partners and Higher Education Partners.

A CIMSPA sports governing body partnership gives providers an opportunity to have their coach learning and development reviewed against professional standards in the sport, fitness, leisure, and physical activity sector.

CIMSPA endorsed and quality assured education, learning and development is being increasingly adopted by sports bodies and other employers and deployers of a coaching workforce. Aligning with this provides a powerful stamp of approval for both the partner organisation and their learning and development offer.

As a CIMSPA Sports Governing Body Partner we will recognise your position as a governing body of sport and enable your brand to share our reputation for quality.

CIMSPA’s endorsement of your coach education, learning and development offer will recognise its contribution to the development of an individual coach’s knowledge, skills and experience.

Qualifications and CPD endorsement – demonstrate how your coach education offer meets nationally recognised professional standards, helping build credibility and trust with learners and employers. 
Quality assurance – annual face to face visit(s)* to your organisation in accordance with CIMSPA’s sector-leading QA protections (includes sampling assessments of professional qualifications).
Home nation recognition – recognition of home nation delivery of endorsed training may be possible under the British host, dependant on agreements between home nation governing bodies and the associated quality assurance. Your partnership manager will confirm requirements.
Designated CIMSPA partnership manager – supporting both your partnership, your education offer’s alignment to professional status and support with recognising historical qualifications.

Sector engagement – with CIMSPA professional development boards and collaboration on professional standard reviews – shaping professional coach education for our sector.
Training and support – signposting to sector engagement opportunities and an annual face-to-face event to share best practice.
Knowledge, insights and data – access through our regular workforce data reports and updates to uncover local, regional and national economy workforce profiles and skills demand.
Partnership recognition – right to use the CIMSPA Education Partner logo, an official partnership certificate and a listing on the CIMSPA partnership directory.
Webinar and conference recognition – gain CPD points for your SGB’s conferences and webinars ran within sport and physical activity.
Staff professional status discounts – discounts for SGB employees to access CIMSPA professional status, plus discounts for chartered status application fees.

Sports governing bodies with home country sports council recognition

Organisations not recognised by sports councils but supported in line with one of these scenarios:

Where an organisation operates within the remit of a sports council recognised body with their official support.
Where an organisation is not recognised by the sports councils and works outside the remit of a sports council recognised body but can secure support from the recognised body as part of its application.

Note: Where there is no sports council recognised body for a sport or activity, organisations can apply to be a CIMSPA training provider partner.
