Member Webinar – Sun and Heat Safety in Sport & Physical Activity – Practical Steps for Safer Participation

Sun safety awareness has never been higher, yet skin cancer rates continue to rise — showing this is not just an information issue, but a behaviour and culture challenge.

31 July – 10-11am

Delivered by the Melanoma Fund, this engaging and interactive webinar invites practitioners and managers to reflect on their own attitudes and habits around sun and heat protection. Why don’t we always act on what we know? What barriers and misconceptions still exist? And how do our behaviours influence those we lead?

Combining real-world insights from coaches who have completed the CIMSPA-endorsed Sunguarding® course with the latest evidence, the session explores how small, practical changes can make a meaningful difference to safety and wellbeing.

You’ll leave with simple, actionable steps to improve practice, along with an introduction to the free Sunguarding® course and resources to support ongoing development.

This session is ideal for anyone working in sport and outdoor recreation who wants to build confidence, improve safety and promote healthier environments.
